A century before Starbucks was conceived, Tampa residents were enjoying café con leche, the best coffee concoction in the world! Here, café con leche is a local breakfast staple. Just one sip and your senses are immediately prepared for the day ahead. Actually café con leche is delicious anytime!
It is made with strong or bold coffee (usually espresso) mixed with scalded milk in an approximately equal ratio. Sugar or sweetener is added according to taste. When served with buttered toast that is dipped into the cup, it’s a classic Cuban breakfast.
Be warned though, conversations - whether between Anglos, Latins, or both - are always more philosophical and passionate over cups of steaming café con leche.
The 36"x24" (includes 2" border) archival giclée is printed by a local atelier on acid-free watercolor paper and features rich, saturated colors, deep dark tones, and finely nuanced details. Each museum quality print is inspected and approved by Tim Boatright before being signed and sealed with his embossed artist’s “chop.”
